Motorcycle Adventure Morocco – 6 Days of Unforgettable Experience

Morocco offers fantastic motorcycle adventures that are closer than they might seem at first glance. Why is it so intense? Because we don’t ride our motorcycles to Morocco—instead, we fly to Africa, where rental motorcycles are waiting for us. In today’s busy world, it’s hard to find time for a long motorcycle adventure!

After landing in Marrakech, we take an afternoon to acclimate, and the very next morning, we set off southward through the High Atlas Mountains to the Sahara. The route follows asphalt roads in good condition, and we stay in hotels and riads—safe, relaxing, and unforgettable. The food is excellent and safe.

Morocco: A fascinating and, above all, unique landscape with good asphalt roads.

Who Can Join?

This event or experience is designed for all motorcyclists, including solo riders and couples on motorcycles. The rental motorcycle options include adventure touring bikes ranging from 700cc to 1300cc (Yamaha Tenere 700, BMW F 750/850 GS, Honda Africa Twin 1100, and BMW R 1250 GS). All bikes can be equipped with side cases and a top case.

The route is moderately challenging, following easy roads. However, we ride all day, with scheduled breaks and lunch. Complete beginners might prefer a different concept—one focused on shorter daily distances with lower-displacement motorcycles. For more information, contact us via email at Motoavantura.

Detailed Itinerary

📍Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Agdz (280 km)

➡️ We start in Marrakech in the morning after picking up our motorcycles and packing our luggage. Our journey begins by leaving the bustling city behind, heading towards the Atlas Mountains.

As we gain elevation, the Mediterranean vegetation transforms into mountain landscapes. Pine trees and argan shrubs replace palm trees and eucalyptus. At 2,260 meters above sea level, we are surrounded by majestic peaks. Our first stop is at the legendary Tizi n’Tichka Pass.

Descending towards the Sahara, we pass through Ouarzazate, the city of films, where movie sets from Gladiator and Troy still stand. The highlight of the day is riding through breathtaking canyon roads along the Draa Valley. We arrive in the Oasis of a Thousand Palms, where we stay in a magnificent kasbah.

📍Day 2: Agdz – Alnif – Merzouga (295 km)

➡️ We follow the original Dakar Rally route, experiencing what it was like for motorsport legends. The asphalt road winds through canyons and oases, eventually leading to vast desert plains.

Midday lunch stop in Alnif, then we continue towards Rissani. Just before reaching Merzouga, we visit Gara Medouar, a massive crater featured in James Bond: Spectre. Late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, where we see Morocco’s largest sand dunes and take a sunset walk on the dunes.

📍Day 3: Merzouga – Merzouga (180 km)

A full day to experience the Sahara!

🌅 Sunrise walk on the dunes
🚙 Quad biking on the sand dunes
🏍️ Optional sand-riding training for adventure seekers

This day is all about enjoying and exploring the desert.

📍Day 4: Merzouga – Erfoud – Todra & Draa Valley – Ouarzazate (500 km)

➡️ We start early, riding through winding roads, stunning canyons, and vast desert plains.

We pass through ancient villages, historic fortresses, and palm-lined valleys, eventually reaching the Todra and Dades Gorges, where the river carved a narrow canyon through the mountains. We end the day by visiting the world’s largest solar power plant near Ouarzazate.

📍Day 5: Tarmight – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech (220 km)

➡️ The final leg of our journey is relaxed, with time for photography and sightseeing.

We ride through the Anti-Atlas Mountains and visit the UNESCO-listed fortress of Ait Benhaddou, a stunning example of traditional Moroccan architecture.

Enjoying the winding roads and mountain views, we return to Marrakech in the afternoon. After returning the motorcycles, we check into a hotel in the city center, reminiscent of Casablanca’s golden era.

In the evening, we take a walking tour of Marrakech, experiencing the vibrant energy of the city. The final dinner is a traditional Moroccan feast, and then we rest for an early morning flight home.
